Rep. Carlos A. Gimenez, who represents Florida’s 28th district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed topics of foreign policy and national achievement through a series of posts on his social media account.
On April 10, 2026, Gimenez highlighted the United States’ relationship with Taiwan, stating: “The United States values & cherishes our long-standing friendship with the people of #Taiwan and we look forward to continue building on the framework of the Taiwan Relations Act! https://t.co/JofLtnfPP5”.
Later that day, he commented on security concerns in the Middle East: “Tehran’s regime has turned the Strait of Hormuz into a weapon. It is time for the United States to finish the job, defeat this threat, and secure freedom of navigation https://t.co/wsOg2W8rlA” (April 10, 2026).
Gimenez also celebrated an American milestone in space exploration on April 11, 2026: “HISTORY MADE.

Gimenez has served as a member of Congress since 2021 after succeeding Debbie Mucarsel-Powell. He previously held positions in both the Florida House of Representatives and Miami-Dade County Commission between 2005 and 2011. Born in Havana, Cuba in 1954 and currently residing in Miami at age 69, Gimenez earned his Bachelor of Public Administration from Barry University in 1999.
