U.S. Congressman Carlos A. Gimenez, representing Florida’s 28th district, published a series of posts on September 4, 2025, addressing topics ranging from Venezuelan politics to university leadership changes and alleged corruption in Honduras.

In a post at 18:11 UTC, Gimenez praised Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado, stating “Maria Corina Machado nos inspira a todos a seguir luchando. Mujer valiente, incansable, profesional.

Later that day at 20:43 UTC, Gimenez commented on developments at Northwestern University following the resignation of its president: “Finally!! After over a year of denouncing & exposing the rampant anti-semitism on campus, President Michael Schill has RESIGNED at @NorthwesternU! We hope the university will take concrete steps to put an end to the culture of hate & discrimination on campus.”

Gimenez has served as the U.S. Representative for Florida’s 28th District since 2021 and previously held positions in the Florida House of Representatives and Miami-Dade County Commission from 2005 to 2011. Born in Havana, Cuba in 1954 and currently residing in Miami, he graduated from Barry University with a Bachelor of Public Administration in 1999.
