U.S. Congressman Carlos A. Gimenez, who represents Florida’s 28th district, posted a series of statements on his social media accounts between April 12 and April 13, 2026, addressing topics ranging from U.S. political figures to international relations.
On April 12, Gimenez shared praise for a high-ranking American official, stating: “The best Secretary of State in American history! #Team305 https://t.co/mciuCPpHO2”.
Later that day, he commented on the political situation in Cuba and Venezuela with the following statement: “Maduro said the same thing. How did that turn out? And for the record, he’s not a president. Diaz-Canel is an unelected puppet dictator universally despised by the Cuban people! https://t.co/SX6AMXlZut”.
Gimenez has represented Florida’s 28th district in Congress since 2021 after replacing Debbie Mucarsel-Powell and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives and Miami-Dade County Commission from 2005 to 2011. Born in Havana, Cuba in 1954 and currently residing in Miami, Gimenez graduated from Barry University with a Bachelor of Public Administration degree in 1999.
