Representative Carlos A. Gimenez, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 28th district since 2021, posted a series of statements on social media criticizing crime rates in American cities, drug trafficking under the Biden administration, and U.S. foreign policy toward Latin America.

On September 2, 2025, Gimenez wrote: “NEWS —> The crime in cities across America like #Chicago is simply UNACCEPTABLE! President Trump is simply doing the job @GovPritzker & @ChicagosMayor have REFUSED to do. We must restore safety & peace of mind to the American people! “

The following day, he commented on narcotics trafficking and border security: “Amen, @EricTrump! For four years, Joe Biden looked the other way while these narcoterrorists flooded America with lethal drugs. Thanks to your father, the drug traffickers are being stopped head-on. Biden broke it, President Trump fixed it!” (September 3, 2025).

Later that same day, Gimenez addressed U.S. foreign policy in Latin America: “Let’s be clear: @Cartajuanero is at best a useful idiot & at worst an agent who carries water for the murderous dictatorships in #Venezuela, #Cuba, & #Nicaragua. Biden’s wreckless foreign policy endangered Americans & strengthened communist regimes. Thankfully, Gonzalez is” (September 3, 2025).

Gimenez has served as a congressman since defeating Debbie Mucarsel-Powell in 2021 and previously held positions in both the Florida House of Representatives and Miami-Dade County Commission from 2005 to 2011. Born in Havana in 1954 and currently residing in Miami, Gimenez graduated from Barry University with a Bachelor of Public Administration degree in 1999.
