Rep. Carlos A. Gimenez, a U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 28th district since 2021, posted several messages on his social media account on November 12, 2025, highlighting local and international political issues as well as his upcoming media appearance.
In a post at 15:17 UTC, Gimenez wrote: “El Presidente Álvaro Uribe Vélez será recibido en Miami otra vez como el gran héroe que es. Mano firme, corazón grande. “.
Later the same day at 15:51 UTC, he announced an imminent television appearance: “NEWS —> I’ll be on @NEWSMAX shortly! Tune in!”.
At 16:28 UTC, Gimenez addressed concerns from constituents regarding migration from New York City to Miami-Dade County: “My phone is being blown up. Constant calls from friends, business owners, & first responders who want to flee from New York City before it’s too late. Miami-Dade is where freedom reigns. New Yorkers fleeing the communist Mamdani regime are welcome here!”.
Gimenez has served in Congress since replacing Debbie Mucarsel-Powell in 2021 and previously held positions in the Florida House of Representatives and the Miami-Dade County Commission between 2005 and 2011. He was born in Havana, Cuba in 1954 and currently resides in Miami after graduating with a Bachelor of Public Administration from Barry University in 1999.
