Gimenez has served as the representative for Florida’s 28th district since defeating Debbie Mucarsel-Powell in 2021. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he was a member of both the Florida House of Representatives and the Miami-Dade County Commission from 2005 to 2011. Born in Havana in 1954 and now residing in Miami, Gimenez graduated from Barry University with a Bachelor of Public Administration degree in 1999.
