Rep. Carlos A. Gimenez, a U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 28th district since 2021, recently posted a series of tweets expressing concern over President Trump’s security and voicing opinions on U.S.-Cuba policy.
On April 30, 2026, Gimenez shared a news development via Fox News, stating: “BREAKING IN @FoxNews —> Trump was ‘one door away’ from danger, Rep Carlos Giménez says as he demands Secret Service explanation”. Later that day, he followed up with another post demanding accountability from federal protection services: “FOX NEWS EXCLUSIVE —> I am demanding a full explanation from the Secret Service. During the WHCA dinner, we learned that President Trump was reportedly ‘one door away’ from a significant security threat. This is a major failure in protection protocols that cannot be ignored. I”.
The following day, on May 1, Gimenez addressed issues concerning Cuba and praised political efforts to pressure the Cuban government: “#SOSCuba We will only have economic prosperity in Cuba when there is political change! President Trump & Secretary Rubio are doing more to force the Castro dictatorship’s hand more than other Administration in my lifetime. The end of the regime is near! “.
Gimenez has represented Florida’s 28th District since 2021 after replacing Debbie Mucarsel-Powell. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in the Florida House of Representatives and on the Miami-Dade County Commission between 2005 and 2011. Born in Havana, Cuba in 1954 and currently residing in Miami, Gimenez graduated from Barry University with a Bachelor of Public Administration in 1999.
