Rep. Carlos A. Gimenez, U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 28th district, posted a series of statements on his official X account on September 2, 2025, addressing the actions of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and announcing an upcoming statement from former President Donald Trump.

In his first post at 10:06 UTC, Gimenez directly criticized the Venezuelan leader by stating, “Nicolas Maduro & his criminal narco terrorist Cartel de los Soles should be concerned. There is more to come! This clown’s days are numbered.”

A few minutes later at 10:11 UTC, he highlighted an anticipated announcement from former President Trump with the message, “President Trump to make major announcement today at 02:00 PM! “

Later in the day at 13:21 UTC, Gimenez commented again on developments involving Venezuela’s leadership: “Dictator Nicolas Maduro, the head of #Venezuela’s criminal Cartel de los Soles, is threatening to declare war on the United States. I guess Maduro really does want to be ousted.”

Gimenez has represented Florida’s 28th district in Congress since 2021 after succeeding Debbie Mucarsel-Powell and previously held positions in both the Florida House of Representatives and Miami-Dade County Commission. Born in Havana, Cuba in 1954 and currently residing in Miami, Gimenez earned a Bachelor of Public Administration degree from Barry University in 1999.
