Saint Leo University Athletics issued the following announcement on Dec. 13.
Amanda Ulrich captured her second all-time Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week honor on Monday, Dec. 13, her first of the 2021-22 season. The conference nod followed a season-high 32 points against Texas A&M International. Ulrich led the charge in a critical upset over the Dustdevils, who were ranked fifth in the South Central region. The thrilling mid-week non-conference tilt lifted the Lions' overall record 5-4 while handing the Dustdevils their first loss of the season moving their season mark to 6-1.
Ulrich broke out 32 points going 9-for-17 (.529) from the floor which displayed sharp shooting from downtown going 5-for-6. At the charity stripe, she was nearly perfect going 9-for-10. In addition, the Secaucus, N.J. native earned five rebounds, four assists, a block, and four steals.
Saint Leo returns to action to host the Hilton Garden Inn Tampa-Wesley Chapel Classic, a three-day tournament inside the Marion Bowman Activities Center. The Lions will open up the classic on Friday, Dec. 17 against Southern New Hampshire University, starting at 7:00 p.m.
