Rep. Carlos A. Gimenez, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Florida's 28th district, has expressed his views on recent political developments via social media posts. His statements reflect concerns regarding Colombia's leadership and highlight upcoming political events involving U.S. officials.

On January 26, 2025, Rep. Gimenez shared his pride in representing a district with the largest Colombian-American community in the United States. He criticized the actions of Colombian President Gustavo Petro, accusing him of receiving support from "criminals, delinquents and guerrilla terrorists." "Con mucho orgullo represento al distrito con el mayor número de colomboamericanos en Estados Unidos."

Later that day, he addressed President Petro directly in another post, urging him to reconsider his stance on deportation flights for convicted criminals. Gimenez reiterated his district's rejection of President Petro’s policies: "Colombia’s socialist President @petrogustavo better wake up & smell the coffee."
