The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office has immediate openings for Communications Officers.
MCSO proudly operates a Communications Center with staff that are trained in all aspects of call taking and dispatch requirements. Team members will rotate positions during their shifts that include Law Enforcement, Fire Rescue and EMS dispatching as well as receiving 911/Administrative calls from residents and visitors.
• Starting Pay: $48,052 with available overtime and shift differential
• 12 Hour Shifts
• Full benefits and Florida Retirement System
• Paid Holidays, Vacation and Sick Time
• Communications Center located in Marathon, FL
• High School Diploma or equivalent certificate
• 40 Hour Training Academy (Policies and Procedures)
• Formal 20 Week Hands On Training Program
• Ability to pass and maintain FCIC/NCIC Certification, CPR Certification, EMD Certification, and Florida DOH Certification
• Typing ability of 35 wpm
• Ability to pass pretest and background investigation including polygraph
• Must be flexible due to shift work and disaster response
