Carlos A. Gimenez, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida's 28th district, recently shared a series of announcements through his Twitter account. Originally from Havana, Cuba, Gimenez has a history of public service that includes positions in Florida's House of Representatives and the Miami-Dade County Commission. He resides in Miami and obtained a BPA degree from Barry University in 1999.
On April 2, 2025, Gimenez hinted at an impending significant announcement. He tweeted, "I’ll be making a MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT tomorrow Tenemos un gran anuncio pautado para mañana, estén al tanto ".
The following day, on April 3, 2025, Gimenez called on the Trump administration to cease remittances and travel to Cuba. He declared, "BREAKING —> I’m calling on the Trump Administration to eliminate all remittances & travel to and from the murderous dictatorship in Cuba. President Trump has been the strongest ally the Cuban people have ever had in the White House & we must end the Communist regime’s access".
In a separate tweet on the same day, Gimenez reiterated his stance in Spanish. He stated, "ÚLTIMA HORA —> He enviado la solicitud formal a La Casa Blanca para eliminar todo envío de remesas y todos los vuelos hacia la dictadura asesina en Cuba. El Presidente Trump ha sido el mejor aliado que ha tenido el pueblo de Cuba y ahora es el momento de eliminarle todas las".
