Rep. Carlos A. Gimenez, a U.S. Congressman representing Florida's 28th District, has taken to social media to express his views on various political issues. Gimenez, who has been serving in Congress since 2021, has been vocal about extending certain policies and strengthening international alliances.
On April 3, 2025, Rep. Gimenez made an appeal regarding the relationship between the United States and Cuba. He emphasized the urgency with which he views the situation, stating "FOX NEWS EXCLUSIVE —> Cuban-born rep to lobby Trump admin for major actions to ‘starve’ Havana regime: ‘The time is now’ I’m calling on the Trump Administration to end all travel to and from the murderous dictatorship in Cuba. The time is now!”.
Later that same day, Gimenez addressed the status of Venezuelan exiles in the United States. In a tweet, he argued for the necessity of extending Temporary Protected Status (TPS) to Venezuelan exiles, ensuring they can stay legally in the country until October 2, 2026.
Additionally, Rep. Gimenez expressed pride in his role as Co-President of the Congressional Friends of Spain Caucus. He highlighted the importance of celebrating shared heritage and collaborating with allies to develop strong policy frameworks in Ibero-America.
