Police Chief Sean Brandenburg named Ann Zaler as Civilian Employee of the Year for 2022 during the department's annual awards ceremony hosted by the Grand Key Resort.

Zaler has been a member of the Key West Police Department's records department since April 2018.  She continuously performs her duties both proficiently and professionally.

"She comes to work daily with a can-do attitude," said Chief Brandenburg, "and always exceeds expectations.  She is a team-oriented member of the department who is personable and professional to coworkers and the public alike."

Zaler is responsible for handling the records involving traffic crashes and citations, and she fields various telephone requests.

"Her skill and efficiency reflect the department's highest standards," said Chief Brandenburg.  Keys Federal Credit Union sponsored the award and presented Zaler with a check for $500.

Zaler was also recognized as a Civilian Employee for the First Half of 2022.
