Rep. Carlos A. Gimenez, a U.S. Congressman representing Florida's 28th district, has made a series of statements on social media regarding the political stance of Mexico under President Claudia Sheinbaum. Gimenez, who has been serving in Congress since 2021 after replacing Debbie Mucarsel-Powell, voiced his concerns over Mexico's international relations and its impact on the United States.

On December 2, 2024, Rep. Gimenez stated: "Let me be clear: the socialist, pro-Castro regime President Claudia Sheinbaum in #Mexico is not our friend. Mexico must decide whether it wants to engage with the United States or continue to support the Castros in #Cuba and Maduro in #Venezuela."

In another tweet posted shortly after, he reiterated his position in Spanish: "Hablemos claro: La Presidenta Claudia Sheinbaum de #México apoya la dictadura en #Cuba y el narcorégimen en #Venezuela — no es amiga de los Estados Unidos y tendrá que enfrentar las consecuencias de su pésimo actuar."

Later that day, Rep. Gimenez expressed support for former President Trump's proposal on tariffs: "President Trump’s proposal to impose tariffs on products made in #Mexico has broad, bipartisan support in Congress. President Sheinbaum has not proven to be a friend of the USA, is complicit in drug & Human trafficking across the border, & supports America’s enemies!"
