Carlos Gimenez demands a halt on flights to Cuba and announces new measures

Rep. Carlos A. Gimenez, currently representing Florida's 28th district in the U.S. Congress, made several notable posts on social media. His messages reflect his concerns regarding U.S. policy toward Cuba, as well as personal condolences concerning a recent loss in the community. Rep. Carlos Gimenez's posts demonstrate his active engagement with topics related to U.S.-Cuba relations and his ties to the Cuban-American community.

On April 6, 2025, Gimenez expressed his stance on U.S.-Cuba relations. In a Twitter post, he declared, "NEWS —> America must put a STOP to all revenue streams the murderous dictatorship in #Havana uses to repress the people of #Cuba. As the only Cuban-born Member of Congress, I’m requesting the end of all flights & remittances to Communist Cuba! #SOSCuba".

The following day, April 7, 2025, he shared his condolences in a tweet for the loss of a prominent community figure. Gimenez wrote, "Lourdes & I would like to express our sincerest condolences to our dear friend, Remedios Díaz-Oliver, after the passing of her beloved husband of 66 years, Fausto Diaz, a successful businessman, proud Cuban exile, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Our prayers are with".

Later, on April 7, 2025, Rep. Gimenez indicated forthcoming actions against the Cuban government. His statement was, "#SOSCuba Estaremos anunciando nuevas medidas contra el régimen asesino y cruel en #Cuba. Estén pendientes."
