Rep. Carlos A. Gimenez, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 28th district, has expressed strong opinions on various geopolitical issues through a series of tweets posted on January 28, 2025. The Congressman has previously served in the Florida House of Representatives and the Miami-Dade County Commission. Born in Havana, Cuba, Giménez moved to Miami and graduated from Barry University.

On January 28, 2025, Rep. Gimenez tweeted "Communist China has no business being in our hemisphere. Countries wishing to engage & benefit from US security & trade must decouple from Communist China." He emphasized the need for countries within the Western Hemisphere to distance themselves from China if they wish to maintain beneficial relationships with the United States.

In another tweet on the same day, Rep. Gimenez criticized Colombian President Gustavo Petro's leadership by stating "Petro se ha expuesto ante el mundo como el irresponsable que es." He argued that Colombia requires a leader who values its alliance with the USA and suggested that such relations cannot be maintained under a "castrochavista" regime.

Further addressing international relations on January 28, 2025, Rep. Gimenez commented on Honduras' political stance towards the United States by tweeting "The socialist President of Honduras is threatening the United States." He asserted that Honduras must repatriate its criminal aliens or face similar consequences as Colombia might under current circumstances.
