Rep. Carlos A. Gimenez, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 28th district, expressed his views on recent political developments in Honduras and congratulated a colleague on his new role through a series of tweets dated January 28, 2025.

In one tweet, Rep. Gimenez commented on the actions of the President of Honduras, describing her as authoritarian and suggesting that her attempts to threaten the United States would not succeed. He advised her to stop aligning with leaders from Cuba and Venezuela, warning that she might face consequences similar to those experienced by Petro in Colombia. Later that day, he criticized a meeting organized by what he termed as "tyrants" and "dictatorzuelos" convened by the President of Honduras, who was also described as corrupt for recognizing Nicolás Maduro's alleged electoral fraud in Venezuela.
